Elder Futhark Rune Meanings - RAIDHO

Raidho Rune Meaning: Wagon or Ride
Alternative Names
Anglo-Friesian/Germanic: Raido
Old Norse: Reid
Old English: Rad
Other Names/Spellings: Radh, Raidha, Raidho, Raidu, Reda, Reidr

Raidho equates to the letter R in our common alphabet.

Raidho points out travel, both in physical terms and of lifestyle directions, or transportation. It represents a journey, vacation, relocation, evolution and change of place or setting. Raidho enables one to see a larger perspective. Seeing the right moves to make and good decisions that will empower direction that is set out. Reidho represents personal daily routine rhythm and world rhythm, the dance of life. "Follow your heart" must be the most well know phrase to indicate which direction in life we are meant to go by our divine blueprint. The beat of a shamans drum that allows the practitioner to slide into another state of mind also embraces the energy of Raidho. Journeying the astral planes through use of our minds projection also is an attribute that can be seen through the eyes of Reidho. This rune holds the power to understand that what lives in the heart knows no separation, in thought we are able to create our reality over time.

From the historical rune poems about Reidho we get:
The Anglo Saxon rune poem translated tells us:
"Riding seems easy to every warrior while he is indoors and very courageous to him who traverses the high-roads on the back of a stout horse."

When we look at the Old Icelandic
, we get:
"Riding is of sitting a blessing
 and swift journey
and horses toiling."

Reid is the rune of advice for direction, ordered movement of energies.
Keywords: inner advice, compass, following the heart, rhythms, protection while traveling, visions

This video contains one of my rune poems that can be used for meditation with the energy of Reidho.
