Elder Futhark Rune Meanings - INGUZ

Inguz Rune Meaning: "God - The God Ing"
Alternative Names
Anglo-Friesian/Germanic: Ingwaz
Old Norse: Inguz
Old English: Ing
Other Names/Spellings: Enguz, Ingvarr, Ingwar

Inguz equates to the letters "ing" in our common alphabet.

Inguz is the seed of an idea or life form, which is the beginning of manifesting a creative process. The energy held within a fertile seed is boundless. This rune represents the god Ing (or Freyr), who is the embodiment of fertility. It is this fertility that we call upon to create. Inguz reminds us that we are the light of our creator. Growth that everyone can embrace is growing spiritually, developing oneself within, remembering ourselves thru bloodline and spiritual awareness. It is here this rune finds a connection to our third eye, or so to say seeing the unseen, attuning ourselves within the light of our creator.

From the historical rune poems about Inguz we get:
The Anglo-Saxon rune poem translated says: "Ing was first seen by men among the East-Danes, till, followed by his chariot, he departed eastwards over the waves. So the Heardingas named the hero."

Inguz is the rune of solitude; to come in attunement with ones Self. The inner child burns the fire of inspiration pushing onward and upward, creating growth. Keywords: harmony, internal growth, strength, approval, unity, agreement, love, peace, gestation, wholeness, right timing, fertility

This video contains one of my rune poems that can be used for meditation with the energy of Inguz. Blessings ~Sigha Manning
