Elder Futhark Rune Meanings - JERA

Rune Meaning Jera - Year, Harvest
Alternative Names
Anglo-Friesian/Germanic: Jera
Old NorseÁr
Old English: Ger
Other Names/Spellings: Jer, Jeran, Yer, Jara, Jeraz

Jera equates to the letters J and Y in our common alphabet.

The energy of Jera embraces ‘Movements in Time.’ Jera represents  movement of spirit in time, through our hopes, dreams, fears and memories. We can "time travel" in thought, going forwards in time or backwards within our memories. This rune brings healing of the mind over time. It takes awhile to place experience within a new context and perceive things from a different angleJera represents the completion of a cycle, season or year or the eternal contrasts of opposites, which reflect a whole.  Jera provides right timing under any circumstance, even when those circumstances are not the most favorable, in time this energy works its way to become what it is meant to be. Eventually, however, the energy of jera embodies all living things to conclude their natural life cycle as night follows day and life resulting into death and then rebirth for other manifestations to sustain themselves again.

From the historical rune poems about Jera we get:
The Anglo Saxon rune poem translated tells us:  "Year is a joy to men, when God, the holy King of Heaven, suffers the earth to bring forth shining fruits for rich and poor alike."

Jera is the rune of harvesting the outcome of past efforts made. Rewards for positive action / mindset through out time. Keywords: farming, waiting, seasons, harvest, activity of the mind, predicting outcome, patience, year, spiraling the flow of life.

This video contains one of my rune poems that can be used for meditation with the energy of Jera.
